a personal (internal) demise
It seems as soon as an individual turns on herself, everyone else is inclined to follow (this is especially true as humans are notoriously mimicking beings, thus spurning the theoretical [yet nonetheless grating] "if everyone jumped off a cliff..." scenario, which-- despite intended to be rhetorical-- could be based more in fact than we'd like to believe. consider the notion that yes, a person may want to jump off said cliff with the group of said lemmings. is it not therefore feasible to reasonably assume one, if not a great many, person(s) would too, enjoy seeing this person fall to a certain demise? and if these humans were to spread the idea to others [complete with sound reasoning and striking emotional commentary], would others not be inclined to adopt these beliefs?). Self-deprecation tends to come full-circle. The head of the beast is contained within the mind of the self-loather. Her thoughts branch out to briefly, gently make themselves known to outsiders (so as not to seem too forced, nor overbearing), then carry on in a fairly routine manner: interjections, side-notes, critiques; then slowly seep into the thought passages of the listeners. At some point it becomes difficult to pinpoint just where the negativity originated, mostly because negative thoughts have become so good at mimicry. The host begins to hate both herself and those around her (unsure, at this point, who really is to blame [that is to say, who first planted the seed of loathing]); those around her continue to hate her (though no one really knows why [negativity does an excellent job of erasing [[re:editing]] events to best suit a given storyline]); and the circuitry continues.
